BCa-Follow-UP test, biomolecular detection of recurrent bladder cancer
Description DiaPat® BCa-FollowUP
Please also read our Product data sheet and the recommendations/instructions at the end of this page.
The DiaPat BCa-FollowUP-Test is based on the non-invasive urine proteome analysis where proteins in the urine are measured by a very sensitive technology (CE-MS technology). The unique urine profile is screened in a fast and highly accurate diagnostic procedure for the abundance of 106 cancer-related molecular markers that together enable the detection of bladder cancer recurrence after initial surgery by using only one single urine sample.
Bladder cancer is characterized by a high recurrence rate of up to 70%. Therefore, physical examinations for early re-emerging tumors should be repeated at 3-months intervals during the first two years after initial surgery. The BCa-FollowUP test in this regard dispenses with the need for invasive procedures during this post-operative follow-up and thus contributes to better quality of life for the patient.
Instructions for use
For the DiaPat® test, the midstream of second morning urine is collected in a urine cup. The urine is then transferred to the enclosed urine monovette (sample syringe) *. The urine monovette is placed in protective packaging* for transport. Transport to the laboratory will be carried out per overnight express (see also instructions for use). *These materials will be provided as part of the DiaPat® sample collection kit.
The DiaPat® test includes the following services:
The DiaPat® package includes the sample set for collecting the urine sample and all the necessary documents. The shipment will be operated by a courier by home pickup or via the doctor's office.
The analysis will be conducted in our central laboratory using the CE-MS technology.
Medical history questionnaire form
A detailed medical history questionnaire is part of the sampling kit. Please fill it out carefully and completely. The information is the basis for a reliable evaluation of the DiaPat® test result.
Send the result letter to your family doctor
The result of the protein analysis, which we send to your doctor, is explained in detail and gives recommendations for further diagnostic steps.
